One productive pea in a pod

Every year my husband goes away for his two weeks of training for the Army. As usual, I am sad to see him go, even though it's only two weeks which is nothing for us in regards to time away from one another. His last deployment was 400 days long. It felt like it would never end. Fortunately, we got engaged 2 months prior to his mobilization and as any newly engaged woman, I dove into wedding plans. We got married 10/10/10 and we were blessed by beautiful weather, friends, family and unity.

This year I decided while he was gone, I am going to finish (or should I say start?) painting the second floor to our home. I made a promise to myself to finish it and I'm sticking to it. We have lived here for two years and the entire first floor is complete (minus one pair of pocket doors that needs to be painted). Our bedroom is on the first floor, so the second floor has been completely neglected, as we don't need to use it...........yet.

So to get myself motivated and psyched up for for this committed project, I had our new living room furniture delivered Friday!!

New furniture means some new decorative accents as well. My retail therapy landed me with some new throw pillows, curtains, rods and an empty cart at TJ MAXX :(

I am very impatient in regards to waiting for a room to be completed. I am a Home Goods and TJ MAXX addict! I drop into TJ's atleast once a week! But when they don't have what I'm looking for or if I want something unique, I hit the drawing board and get creative!!!!

I found this little buy at Michaels Crafts, and I intend to turn it into a one of a kind  vintage crate!!!. Pictures to come as well as the DIY instructions!!!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend!!!

Happy Monday

Happy Monday!!!! What a great weekend. The weather near the cape was beautiful. We live in Wareham. Our town is called "the Gateway to Cape Cod", we live about 10 minutes from the official Cape Cod. Unfortunately the hubs was away for drill this weekend. When he is gone I naturally draw myself into some reading or some house project. This week reading was winning. Numerous patients and friends have recommended "50 Shades of Grey"......THANK YOU friends and patients. It was a super easy read and regardless of the mindless smut, the love story is AMAZING. However, as I near finished book 2, my dog ate my kindle. Literally, ATE! my kindle. lol!!! I know, I'm laughing and it shouldn't be humorous at all. But I have a HUGE soft spot for pets, especially our girl, Graycie. She's 100lb great dane and she is our house hold's saving "grace". Yes!!! that's her with her Doggles on! What of it? When my husband came home from Iraq, I asked him if he had ever had a dog. I had read a lot about dogs being therapeutic and being able to comfort veterans after deployment. Of course my husband had never had a dog, and of course he wanted a GREAT DANE. aka HORSE. All in all, she has been a blessing our home and a savior day after day to him. As you can tell, I love pets, possibly more than people :) You can come home in a bad mood and they still love you unconditionally. We have the picture above, blown up in our home in a 8x10 in a black and white, soft finish. Our friends and family always walk by and can't believe it's her. As you can see by her photos, she has so much personality and charisma. On that note, I have now paid another $10.00 for the second book to finish it on my ipad, totaling $30.00 for the first 2 books. UGH!!! On the positive side, I am doing okay, as she hate my hubby's Oakley sunglasses last week :)xoxoJess

It never came to me in my sleep!

hi! I have had my idea on blogging for a few months now, however I had the hardest time coming up with a name. I was hoping I would wake up with the idea. After waiting for an epiphany of origination to  happen, I threw around some simple words and VOILA!

After being inspired by some great bloggers that I follow on Twitter, I too realized that I might have some inspiring things to share. From house projects to recipes, health tips and some life changing experiences, I am revved up and ready to write.

Please feel free to leave comments and or suggestions! I am a virgin blogger and I am open to all positive criticism! Thanks for stopping by.

xoxo
