Weekend Update and A GIVEAWAY!

Linking up with Sami today for a weekend update and......
A WINE-HO GIVEAWAY!!!!

Friday,
I decided to go get my hair did. After not showering for 3 days and having the 2013 flu for 5 days, I felt fugly! I've been wanting to go lighter and because my hair dresser is the God of color, I trust her with anything.
Here is the pic that I gave her...

Here is what I left with!

It will most likely take two more visits with her to get the all over color but she is amaze balls!!!

This gorg dress came in on Friday too

DAMN YOU KIKILARUE, I LOVE YOU!

We went to a little redneck dive bar so that the men could play poker that night. Why did we go??? Because they have recliners that are in front of the fire place and the best decor EVER!

Saturday was my good deed day. The hubs and I have a friend in Afghan. His wife is manning both of their homes while he is deployed. They are trying to sell their primary home and she lives in a rental with her children. Due to the SUB-ZERO temperatures that grazed our graces this week, she had maximized all of her heating options and her reality property had dropped to 40 degrees! She lives on a extremely steep hill (think black diamond with a -10 windchill on the back of a mountain) and the gas company refused to go down her driveway due to the snow and ice. So my bro in law, his bro in law and me and my sister made a special delivery to her house.......
Sexy car full of wood!!!! and a selfie with my new hat from GroopDealz!!!

Saturday night we hung out with some friends and made enchiladas and drank beeritas! #ootd you ask???
Best T Shirt Ever right?

Sunday morning I decided to make some blueberry pancakes...from scratch. However, I made these pancakes with baking SODA instead of powder. Shortly after we finished eating, I realized this. I then called my mom in panic mode and googled the shit out of "consumption of baking soda". We are still alive today to talk about it.

After breakfast we took the pups out back for a bit to run around and I captured some really great pics them!!!

And Because you've made it through this painfully boring post
it's
GIVEAWAY TIME!!!
This t shirt is the balls and because so many people liked it on instagram, I'm gonna give one away!!! Enter now wine-hos.

Letters with Lisette!

This link party will only run for 4 weeks, with the last day being the day after Valentine's Day.
Each week a different set of questions will be asked. The idea of this is for you to answer the question in letter format and address it to your prior single self!!!
This weeks question is.

"What did you think about dating and relationships when you were little?

What do you think of them now?"

So grab a button and link up

Dear Jessica,
You were waaaay too busy with dance from the ages of 5-14 to even notice boys. Hell, your chest represented a 12 year old male's until you were.....wait, well with a Vicki's bra now your fabulous, but still. Moving on, you quit dance at 14 to cheer lead in high school ....and then you noticed the boys. You had 2 serious boyfriends in high school. The first one, well he was the one that every girl wanted, but I assure you that when you are 30 he will be bald and teeth number's 8 and 9 will be missing, aka the front ones. The second boyfriend you fell for on a whim. Your cheer leading captain was dating his older brother and she said that you should date the younger brother and then you did, and then out of no where the switcharoo happened, then you got robbed and your best friend started dating him. I assure you that this was for the best considering that at some point soon in his life he will have a receding hair line and forever be attached to his mother's umbilical cord.

Now it is your senior year of high school and you do not have any of the same friends that you have had since kindergarten because  some whore one of your old bf's is dating your ex, so, you meet new ones. These friends will only be acquaintances in your life, but it is nice to learn at such a young age, what an acquaintance is. You will also shortly learn what alcohol and bad decisions are.
Long story short, the man that you met through these acquaintances was sent to you by God. He was sent to you to help you through the tough times that lie ahead. The traumatic years of losing your brother and father.
After this,
you will spend the next few years going through the motions of what seems like the next right thing to do. Even though it's not.

Good luck,
 Jessica (ages 4-22)

Currently, I still believe to this day, that this one person was put into my life for a series of moments for a reason. Whether it be for structure or for grounding, it was what I needed. Looking back, I never really had a heavy heart. I never fell hard, I went with what felt right. I dated a lot before I settled down with my husband, and he too was a God send.

Relationships are a give and take. You will always feel like you are on the 80% of the 80%/20% ratio.

All that I know about relationships is that in this moment, I'm exactly where I am supposed to be!
And I like it here.

Another #spdl !

I loved it so much last week, that I'm linking up with Katie at Keep Calm and Carry On and Steph at a Beautiful Mess for their
Saw it, Pinned it and Did it! AGAIN!

I love vintage stuff! I mean all of it. And the more of if that I find, the more of it that I want. This is right up the hubs alley considering he likes older stuff too however he gets vintage and redneck mixed up right quick. I like his input on some stuff, and other stuff well............... just clashes.

This is a mural that is in our BASEMENT.

A few weeks ago the hubs came home with a surprise for me. I had a rough day at work and when I got home he turned on the back deck light and it illuminated these glorious wooden boxes, and then I heard a heavenly choir but in a Barry White kind of pitch (I'm baratone). He had made friends with a fellow redneck hoarder neighbor up the street and saw that he had a ton of these crates in the back of his house. The man was desperate to get rid of them and loaded up the his truck and brought them by!  These crates are from Ocean Spray and Makepeace. Makepeace has been selling cranberries to Ocean Spray forever! One of the crates that he scored was stamped 1948.
As soon as he showed them to me, I knew what I was going to do with them. I was previously pinspired.....
The first pic is from Pinterest!

This pin displays apple crates but whatevs. Also, our crates are aged a little more than these guys too!

This is our version!

I absolutely love these! They fit perfect in our home and are functional, not just decorative.

Weekend Recap !

So, the girls night in pajama's was a blast. And I was told by one of the guests, that it will now be annual!

I made my delcious and effective sangria, kahlua trifle and crock pot meatballs. Some of the girls brought food too.
I found these adorable mustache and lip straw kits at Target that I just had to have, and I paired them up with lace/pastel eye masks!

Everyone showed up in comfy jammies and after a few cocktails, my lingerie draw was raided along with my shoe closest.
And my favorite comment of the night happened at this point.......
"How are you not pregnant with all of this shit?"

Graycie even got into it.

We laughed, we cried, we played charades and I'm pretty sure some peeing of the pants happened

My favorite part about getting my two totally different groups of friends together is that they bond. Regardless of their differences, ages, occupations, every one just mixes and blends. It honestly seems like each person brings something totally different to the occasion and they take whatever we are laughing about to a whole new level! I am blessed to be surrounded by such good shits!

Saturday, was naturally a day for my liver and kidneys to recover. It took until 2 pm for that little drummer boy to stop playing in my head.

Sunday the hubs and I had a double date day and went down to Plymouth. You know? Where the Mayflower is!
Serious fail though. I didn't take any pictures (I haven't yet figured out the knack being able to thoroughly enjoy myself but yet, paparazzi the entire day for my blog).
We grabbed lunch down at East Bay Grille on the water front and then we went antique shopping.

The Ravens won so what.....

I will not discuss any more of the event that took place between 6:30 and 9:52 Eastern Standard time. However, I did consume a few grapefruit (vitamin C) and vodka cocktails, only to help me cope with my raging disappointment for the Patriots sore throat. And there may have been a bacon pizza delivered to my house at 10:15 pm

Bark Box

Have any of you heard of Bark Box?
Last year I hit the bandwagon and subscribed to Birch Box. In my opinion it was a waste of money. I should have went with glam bag.
My subscription is due to be up and I will not be renewing, but I do want to find another way to get a monthly package sent to the house. Even if it's not for me, it stills feels special!

I was reading Christina's blog and stumbled upon this adorable box for pups! Her dog gets all kinds of cool stuff!!! It starts off as low as $18 a month, with free shipping. Upon sign up you will enter some information about your pooch, pick a frequency and then your on your way! I like how it is pet specific. Because not all of our fur babies are going to eat the same size bone! And some of my fellow blogger's dogs are the size of Graycie's toys!

Plus 10% of it's proceeds, go to a rescue group!

So check it out and let me know what you think! And if you are already a member of Bark Box , let me know how you like it!!!
And if Bark Box wants to give me a free month trial, ya know, to blog about it and to write about how much my girl loves it! I wouldn't be impartial to that!

Neither would Graycie!!!

What will they think of next? The "Birth Box" for all of the expecting moms. A monthly supply of chocolate and pre-natals!

#SPDL LINK UP

Linking up with Katie at Keep Calm and Carry On and Steph at a Beautiful Mess for their
Saw it, Pinned it and Did it!

I have been eye-ing a Laundry sign at TJ Maxx. It was on canvas, $12 bucks and I couldn't get myself to buy it. El Cheapo, I know. I saw this on Pinterest and decided to go for it.

So I went to Michael's and bought my own wood sign. It was $3.99 and I had a 40% off coupon.

I may or may not have been crafting on a Fredrick's Catalog. I cropped as much as I could.
First I painted it with some teal paint. Super light with the paint brush making sure not to saturate the wood.

Then I stenciled the word "LAUNDRY" on it and colored it in with a sharpie. *Sorry I forgot to take a pic, pre-sharpied. I was on a roll.

I then sanded off the bright finish of marker.

Lastly, I rag stained it with Minwax English Chestnut, to give it that old dingy (dinjē)
look.
Saw it, Pinned it, Did it!!!

This will be hung down stairs in my laundry area, obviously :)

#BragAboutit and a Weekend update!

Happy Monday friends! My weekend was pretty quiet and uneventful. I'm linking up with Sami over at Sami's Shenanigans

My mom had surgery on Thursday. She had her eyelid fat removed. She had heybabies of the eyes.

Here is a pic after the surgery, It looks worse than it is and I keep reassuring that her inner Joan Rivers will be soon be visible.

Graycie also had surgery this week. She had all of her lady parts removed on Friday.

She has truly been a great patient and she hasn't even been wearing the cone of shame that much.

No #Bragaboutit link up today but we will be tweeting it live! So feel free to tweet out to Jenn, Mallory or myself about what ever badass, super awesome, jealously worthy thing you did this weekend!

#BRAGABOUTIT

For the record, I did not gain a pound this weekend!!! Not.A.One.!!!! This is epic due to the fact that I am 4lb weekend gainer. So either A.) the exercise is starting to kick in or, 2.) eating clean has been paying off or, C.) I'm dehydrated and the poundage just hasn't shown up yet.

And the hubs is going to get me coffee as we speak!

Over and out Bitches!
